Google has simplified the transfer of secure data between Android smartphones

When upgrading a smartphone, one has to transfer not only a Google account to a new gadget, but also all programs, many of which often require two-stage authorization after reinstallation. To speed up the move, Google released the first major update of the Authenticator branded application in three years, reducing the whole tedious process to a few seconds.

The new version of Google Authenticator has the ability to transfer accounts from one device to another using a QR code, which must be scanned using the camera of the new device. This will significantly reduce the verification time compared to the standard code request and its subsequent manual entry. In addition, the application received an interface that meets the concept of Material Design 2.0, as well as a dark color scheme.

The new version of Google Authenticator will be distributed in waves and is already available on Google Play for some regions.
